No. 2 FOLDING POCKET KODAK - MODEL C
1904

This is the third version of the No. 2 Folding Pocket Kodak, first made in 1899 as something of a box camera in folding form. While the first styles, Models A and B, had simple rotary shutter and meniscus lens, in 1904 the much improved Model C was released, featuring a wooden lens board and an excellent quality brass Bausch & Lomb “FPK Automatic” lens assembly with better shutter, compound Rapid Rectilinear lenses, and an iris aperture with a full range of settings. It also had three focus settings to allow for a bit more flexibility than the older fixed-focus lens. In addition, it had a pneumatic shutter release option to use with a rubber bulb to eliminate the risk of jostling the camera when firing the shutter lever.

Like the earlier Bull's-Eye and previous Folding Pocket Kodaks, it used 101 film and yielded 3-1/2” square images. Despite being significantly upgraded over the previous Model B, the price of the better Model C remained at $15.

This is a superb camera for modern use, converted to take conventional 120 medium-format film with custom adapter spools for the film and a mask to fit the smaller 2-1/4" square size images.
